    Giannis Massas

Giannis was born in a small village in Northern Greece, where he lived until adulthood.

In 2007, he moved to the city of Thessaloniki, where he began to connect more deeply with cycling, becoming an active urban cyclist.

In 2012, he set out on his first cycling trip, visiting the islands of Crete and Kythira, with his final destination being the beautiful city of Monemvasia. Later that year, in October, he embarked on his first journey beyond Greece’s borders — cycling solo for over 2,000 km from Thessaloniki to London Uk.

The adventures continued in 2013, when he cycled from Istanbul back to Thessaloniki. In 2014, he set himself an even bigger challenge: riding from his hometown in Northern Greece all the way to Porto, Portugal, and back — covering 7,374 km in 55 days across nine countries.

In 2015, Giannis undertook his longest cycling trip to date: a 70-day, 8,000 km journey through 16 countries, starting in Thessaloniki and reaching St. Petersburg, Russia, before returning home.

In 2018, he participated in the legendary Transcontinental Race — an ultra-distance cycling event — riding 4,040 km from Belgium to Kalambaka in central Greece in 18 days and 16 hours, finishing beneath the breathtaking cliffs of Meteora.

In 2021, Giannis and his girlfriend explored the Ionian Islands by bike, starting in Corfu and continuing through Lefkada and Kefalonia. Over 22 days, they cycled 700 km, visiting 15 wineries along the way.

Most recently, in 2025, he took on a bikepacking adventure around the island of Taiwan, riding nearly 1,000 km in just nine days.

A graduate in oenology and viticulture, Giannis combines his love for cycling with his passion for wine, touring some of the world’s most beautiful vineyards on two wheels.”
